Viewing and Editing a User

Who is this applicable to?
 Security Administrator

The Customer Portal allows the Security Administrator to view and manage all users that have been created in the system. You can view the users by navigating to User Management > Users from the main menu on the left.

In the Users tab that opens, you can search for the required user. You can also choose to use the Basic or Advanced search options provided to you.

The Odessa system allows you to perform two types of searches across the application – Basic and Advanced.

Basic search

You can choose to search for an entity based on basic search parameters such as Name, Id and so on. For this, select the search criteria from the dropdown and enter the search keyword.

Advanced Search

Clicking the Advanced option opens the Advanced Search window that allows you use a combination of search parameters to narrow down your search for a specific entity. Here, you use a variety of syntaxes and queries to perform specific searches.

Select the required user and click .

In the User tab that opens, you can perform the following actions:

  • Edit the user details
  • Inactivate a role
  • Block user’s access
  • Reset password

Click the button to save any changes made to the user.

Editing user details

The Personal Details section allows you to edit the First Name, Last Name and Email of the user.

Activating or Inactivating a user

In the Access Details section, you can choose to inactivate or activate a user by making the appropriate selection.   

NOTE
Inactive roles are highlighted in red on the Users tab.  

Blocking a user’s access

Incase you need to block a specific user’s access to the Customer Portal, you can do so using the Login Blocked checkbox in the Access Details section.

Resetting a user’s password

In case the users forget their password and can’t sign in, you can choose to reset their password from the User tab.

  1. Select the Reset Password checkbox.
  1. Click and run the Notification job to intimate users about the password reset.

While scheduling the Notification job, select Job Task as Notification in the Job Step section.

TIP
It is recommended to schedule a recurring job to intimate users about profile creation.

Editing TFA Details

You can unselect the TFA Factor Authentication Enabled checkbox or even change your choice of Authentication Factor Provider.
